Overview

The Arduino Starter Kit R4 brings together everything you need to begin your maker journey or upgrade your classroom experience – no prior experience required! At its heart is the UNO R4 WiFi board, offering great performance, built-in wireless connectivity, and compatibility with the entire Arduino ecosystem.

Inside the box you’ll find the printed book in English with 13 guided, hands-on projects, plus all the components needed to build your way through them – and many more in our growing online library! After registering your kit you'll be able to access the content online at https://courses.arduino.cc/starter-kit-r4 available in English, French, Italian, Spanish and German – and we are working on adding new languages!

Register for full digital resources

Once you register the kit online, you’ll unlock:

• Extra projects to leverage the Arduino UNO R4’s extensive features, with always new ideas and tutorials added by the Arduino team

• Content translated into Italian, French, German – and more languages to come!

With simple instructions, familiar components, and wireless-ready hardware, the Starter Kit R4 quickly turns ideas into real prototypes, allowing beginners to have a rewarding first experience with making technology their own.

Key benefits

  1. Ready for modern making. The UNO R4 WiFi board delivers stronger performance and built-in Wi-Fi®/Bluetooth® so you can build modern connected projects from day one.
  2. No barriers to coding. You’ll find our GenAI coding assistant right in the online editor, ready to offer suggestions, clarify concepts, and support you as you grow.
  3. Learn by building. Dive into real projects that guide you through sensors, motors, displays and logic – learning by doing, gaining confidence as you go.
  4. A growing platform. Online resources include translations in different languages and new, original projects that will be published by the Arduino team over time.
  5. Designed for classrooms. Get clear step-by-step guidance to include everyone in their personal STEM journey.
  6. From beginner to certified. Once you’ve completed the projects in the book, why not get the recognition of an official Arduino Certification? The kit includes a voucher to take the test (one attempt).

What you can build with it

Use the Starter Kit R4 to explore how everyday objects turn digital: build an interactive lamp that responds to touch, create a musical instrument you play by waving your hand, and more. In a classroom, you might guide students to team-up, iterate, and invent together. Each project teaches core skills that carry forward – so, when you’re ready, you can move on to advanced Arduino boards and bigger ideas.
